Children's Services
Head Start:
Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through educational, health, nutritional, social and other services. The program engages parents in their children's learning and helps them in progressing towards their educational, literacy and employment goals. PMS currently has 22 program sites and serves 1,273 Head Start children and 246 Early Head Start children through both center-based and home-based programs. Our Pre-K program consists of direct services to four year old children who will attend kindergarten the following year, providing developmentally appropriate activities for parental involvement. PMS serves 20 Pre-K children in Santa Fe County and 40 Pre-K children in San Juan County. PMS' Home Visiting Program includes first time pregnant women, caregivers and other first time parents, to ensure that babies are born healthy; children are physically and mentally healthy; children are safe; children and parents have nurturing relationships; and the family is connected to formal and informal supports in the community.

Early Intervention:
Roundtree Children's Developmental Services provides early intervention to all San Juan County families with children birth to three who exhibit a delay, may be at risk for a delay, or who are involved with the New Mexico Children's Youth and Families Department. Roundtree Children's Developmental Services provides case management, special instruction, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Nutritional services and outreach services to New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired as well as to the New Mexico School for the Deaf. Transition services are also provided as part of the child's Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) to assist with a smooth transition from Early Intervention services to the family's choice for their preschool/academic setting. All services are provided in the comfort of the child's home at no cost to the family.
